The recordings of the first DASSI Training Course – Data Management and Open Practices in Social Science Research Infrastructures, held on 23–24 February 2026, are now freely available on YouTube.

The course was organized through the collaboration between the Department of Human and Social Sciences, Cultural Heritage (DSU) of the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) and the University of Milano-Bicocca, and was designed for CNR researchers and technologists interested in research data management and open science practices. The programme provided 11 hours of training on FAIR data management, research integrity, and the services offered by national and European research infrastructures for the social sciences, including CESSDA.

The four modules covered:

  • Research Ethics and Personal Data Processing – addressing research integrity, ethical assessment procedures, GDPR compliance, and responsible data sharing.
  • FAIR Data Management in the Social Sciences – introducing FAIR principles, metadata, licensing, and Data Management Plans.
  • Research Infrastructure Tools and Services for Social Sciences: Data Discovery – exploring DASSI and CESSDA catalogues, metadata standards, controlled vocabularies, and strategies for finding and evaluating datasets.
  • Research Infrastructure Tools and Services for Social Sciences: Data Deposit – focusing on data preparation, documentation standards, FAIR-compliant data sharing, licensing, and depositing datasets through DASSI services.
