How to deposit data

Use the form on this page to contact us and find out how to deposit your data.

Depositing data is very easy! Follow the steps below. The DASSI staff will review the received materials, store them securely, and make them available as soon as possible.
These are the materials already produced by the researcher during their research and generally consist of the following elements:
  • Research data: the actual data you intend to deposit. To learn about the data formats accepted by DASSI, read the acquisition policy.
  • Data collection instruments: tools used for data construction/collection (e.g., questionnaire, interview transcript, data extraction script, etc.). You can consult a brief list of some types of tools here.
  • Supporting documentation for the data: documents describing the research data and the context/study in which it was constructed (e.g., publications, methodological notes, research projects, etc.).
DASSI only accepts well-documented data that clearly and completely describes how the data were collected, organized, manipulated, and what it specifically refers to.
To proceed with the deposit, it is also necessary to complete the following documents provided by the archive:
  • Deposit agreement: a document through which you grant DASSI the license to use the data, establishing the license under which the data can be reused by users.
  • Deposit form: a brief questionnaire for collecting key information about the data.
The last step involves sending the research materials. File transfer is done through the FileSender platform, promoted by the Consortium GARR (Italian University and Research Network). The service allows you to use your institution's authentication system. After the transfer, DASSI will start the data evaluation procedures according to the criteria established in its acquisition policy and will contact you regarding the possible acceptance of the deposit.
